Mobicip Rules make it easier than ever to manage your child’s screen time and online activity. This article guides you through how to manage your child’s access to devices by setting up rules that work best for your family.
Mobicip automatically applies default rules based on your child’s age group, so you’re already off to a good start. You can customize these settings to match your child’s unique needs.
Rules helps you set:
- Daily Screen time to manage how long your child can use their devices.
- Sleep Time so devices automatically lock during bedtime.
- Block or allow websites and web categories to ensure safe browsing.
- Disable filters on trusted networks such as a school Wi-Fi.
How to set up Rules in your Mobicip App or Website:
You can easily set up or adjust the rules for each of your children right from your Mobicip parent app.
-
Daily Screen Time: You can choose the amount of time your child can use their device each day.
To set up screen time limits, open the Mobicip parent app or log in on the web > Rules > Select child > Tap Daily Screen Time > Select a day to set the allowed duration > Choose the days you want to apply the same limit > Save.

-
Sleep Time: Ensuring your child stays off their device during bedtime is important for their mental and physical health. When Sleep Time is active, Mobicip will block apps and websites so your child can wind down and rest without screen distractions.
Go to Rules > Sleep Time > Select a day > Choose a start time and end time for when the device should be blocked > Select the days you want this schedule to apply > Save.
To skip Sleep Time on a particular day, select the day and toggle it off.

-
Web: Go to Rules > Web. Here’s where you take charge of what your child can explore online. The web section gives you three simple tools to manage what they can access.
Categories:
You can use our neatly organized categories—like Social Media, Games and Shopping, to block or allow whole groups of websites with a single tap.
Not sure what a category means? Just tap the info icon in the top right to open ‘Know What You Block!’—your quick guide to what each category includes.

Websites:
You can manage access to individual websites right here.
Enter a website to allow or block > Select “Add websites(s) > Save. The website will then appear in your Allowed or Blocked list, and will be allowed or blocked on your child’s device accordingly.

Allowed List Only Mode:
This mode allows ONLY the websites on your Allowed list. All other websites, including any sub-domains, will be blocked automatically.

We recommend keeping this turned off unless you want a very tightly controlled browsing experience for your child.
Keywords:
You can block your child from searching for certain keywords and phrases using Mobicip. Add the keywords to the list and block searches or filter content, making sure your child can’t access any website that includes those keywords in the website URL.
Go to Rules > Web > Keywords > Enter Keywords or Phrases to block > Block.

We recommend avoiding very short words (less than 4 letters) or common everyday words, as these can cause over-blocking and restrict access to safe websites.
-
Networks: You can exempt trusted Wi-Fi networks from Mobicip’s protection. This means that when your child’s device connects to a trusted network like a school Wi-Fi that already has safety restrictions, Mobicip will pause its internet filtering and rules for that network.
This is helpful if the network already has strong filters or controls in place and there is no need for an extra layer of filtering on top of it.
Go to Rules > Networks > Add Network > Enter the network name and the public IP address of the network > Add.
