Mobicip parental controls setup - iPhone/iPad
This article explains how to set up Mobicip on your child’s iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or above.
Before you begin:
Before setting up Mobicip, please make sure:
- Your child’s Apple ID is signed in on the iPhone or iPad you want to protect. Learn More
- Your child’s Apple ID age is set to under 18 (17 or younger). Learn more
- Apple Family Sharing is enabled for your child’s Apple account. Learn More
- You have physical access to your child’s device to set up. Once the initial setup is complete, you can manage everything remotely.
Setup Steps:
Download Mobicip app from the App store on the device you want to protect. Open the app and select “Child” to begin setup.

Login with your Mobicip account or Scan the QR code from the Mobicip app on your phone or the browser.

Select the child profile to map this device. If you haven’t created a child profile yet, tap “Add Child” and enter your child’s name and date of birth to create one.

Mobicip automatically applies age-appropriate internet and screen time settings for your child. This includes options to allow or block apps and websites, web categories and daily screen time limits. You can review and customize these settings anytime to create a safe online experience for your child.
On the next few screens, Mobicip will ask for a few permissions needed to protect and monitor your child’s device:
- Push notifications: Allow Mobicip to send push notifications.

- Location Access: Tap “Allow While Using App” to grant location access, then select “Change to Always Allow” to enable continuous location monitoring.

- Screen Time: Tap Continue to allow Mobicip to access Screen Time.

Note: Apple requires you to enter the Family Organizer's Apple ID to grant this permission, as part of Family Sharing.

- Content Filer: Allow Mobicip to filter network content, then enter the device passcode to add the Mobicip Content filter profile.

Next, you can personalize App categories in Mobicip by organizing the apps installed on your child’s device under Social Media, Entertainment, and Games. This lets you easily choose which apps to allow, limit, or monitor from your Mobicip account.
App Categories: Click Continue to map Mobicip app categories to the relevant Apple app categories. By following these steps, you will be able to set up time limits for each category on the parent app.
Note: An Apple app category or app can only be mapped to one Mobicip category at a time.

If you feel an app from another category should be under social media, entertainment or gaming, you can manually assign it to that category during setup.
Once done, allow the device registration process to finish.

That's it! Your child's device is now protected by Mobicip and you can hand over the device to your child.
