How do I set up Social Media monitoring?
Mobicip’s Social Media Monitoring helps parents stay informed about potential risks on their child’s social media accounts. Mobicip supports monitoring for Facebook and Snapchat (Android devices only).
The feature scans activity for signs of potentially harmful content and sends alerts to the Parent app, helping you identify self-harm, cyber-bullying and predatory attacks on your children. Mobicip monitors content related to five categories - Bullying, Sexual, Violence, Drugs, and Self Harm/Suicide.
This article explains how to set up Social Media Monitoring for your child’s account.
Enabling Facebook Monitoring:
Log in to your Mobicip account, select the child profile you want to monitor, then go to Rules > Social Media > Facebook to begin setting up Facebook Monitoring.

The next screen provides more information about how to enable Facebook Monitoring works. Review the details and click Let’s Connect to continue.
You can either:
- Enter your child’s Facebook credentials directly if you have them, or
-
Send a connection request to your child via email

If you choose the email option, your child will receive an invitation to connect their Facebook account to Mobicip. They must accept the invitation and complete the connection within 30 days for Facebook Monitoring to be enabled.

Once Facebook Monitoring is enabled, Mobicip will scan the account for potentially harmful content and notify you when activity is flagged for your review.

Any content related to the monitored categories will be flagged and reported to you, helping you start a conversation with your child when needed. Once you've reviewed an alert, you can mark it as resolved to remove it from your child’s flagged activity list.

Enabling Snapchat Monitoring:
Snapchat monitoring is currently available only on Android devices due to platform limitations on iOS.
To set up Snapchat monitoring, log in to your Mobicip account, select the child profile you want to monitor, then go to Rules > Social Media > Snapchat and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once Snapchat Monitoring is enabled, make sure the Mobicip app is installed on your child’s Android device. Mobicip will then automatically monitor the connected Snapchat account and notify you if potentially harmful content is detected.

On the parent app, go to Rules > Social Media > Snapchat in the Mobicip Parent app to view any activity that has been flagged by Mobicip for your review.
